Convocation ceremony of SUPVA today, preparations complete

May 3, 2026, Rohtak.

The second convocation ceremony of Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLCSUPVA) will be held today (Monday). Preparations for the ceremony have been completed at the university. The Governor of the state and Chancellor of the University, Professor Asim Kumar Ghosh, will preside over the ceremony. DC Sachin Gupta and SP Gaurav Rajpurohit of Rohtak visited the university regarding the preparations and security arrangements for the event. They also held a meeting with officials of various departments of the district administration and gave necessary directions. During this time, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Amit Arya provided them with detailed information about the entire ceremony.

DC Sachin Gupta and SP Gaurav Rajpurohit visited the convocation venue along with Vice-Chancellor Dr. Amit Arya and Registrar Dr. Gunjan Malik Manocha. They obtained all kinds of information from the university administration regarding the event. There was a detailed discussion about the program schedule as well as the seating plan for the guests and the security arrangements. They also inspected the parking area and entry-exit points and gave necessary directions and suggestions. They also held a meeting at the university guest house regarding the event. In the meeting, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Amit Arya stated that, considering the weather, a fully air-conditioned, water- and fireproof pandal has been prepared. Selected people will be on the stage along with the Governor. During this time, officials from the Municipal Corporation, HSVP, electricity, education department, health department, and other departments were present. The DC and SP instructed all officers to work with seriousness and better coordination for the successful conduct of the event. Any kind of negligence in this matter will not be tolerated. ADC Narendra Kumar and SDM Ashish Sharma were also present on the spot. On Sunday afternoon, university staff also conducted rehearsal and mock drill regarding the organization of the ceremony.

Entry will be from Gate Number 2.

For security reasons during the convocation ceremony, the entry of VIPs, VVIPs, students, and other people into the university campus has been arranged from different gates. Only VIPs and VVIPs will enter from Gate Number 1. Meanwhile, students receiving their degrees, their guardians, and other university students will enter from Gate Number 2. All of them can use Gate Number Two to reach the venue of the convocation ceremony directly.

The convocation ceremony will start at 10 AM.

Vice-Chancellor Dr. Amit Arya informed that the convocation ceremony will be started at 10 AM. The Governor Dr. Asim Kumar Ghosh, along with his wife, First Lady of Haryana Mitra Ghosh, will be present at the ceremony. Along with this, the state’s Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda will also be present. Vice-Chancellors of several universities in the state are also arriving to participate in the program. A total of 760 students will be awarded degrees in the ceremony, including 114 postgraduate and 646 undergraduate alumni. Additionally, 35 meritorious students will be awarded gold medals. Degrees will be awarded to 29 Masters of Planning from different batches, 32 Masters of Fashion Design, 39 Masters of Visual Arts, 14 Masters of Arts (Mass Communication – Media Production), 133 Bachelors of Architecture, 210 Bachelors of Design, 214 Bachelors of Visual Arts, and 89 Bachelors of Fine Arts (Film, Acting, Audiography, Cinematography, Film Direction, and Film Editing) students.

Registrar Dr. Gunjan Malik Manocha stated that complete arrangements have been made so that alumni coming to receive their degrees do not face any difficulties. A reception counter has been set up in the pavilion for degree holders. Alumni coming to collect their degrees will have to come to this counter and get in touch. Along with this, there will be a separate space for group photos, where students receiving their degrees can have their photos taken.
