Chandigarh, May 16 – Under the Mukhyamantri Teerth Yatra Yojana, a special train travelling from Sirsa to Takht Sachkhand Sri Hazur Sahib Nanded reached Safdarjung Railway Station, Delhi, late Friday night. A total of 56 passengers from the Sonipat and Panchkula districts of Haryana boarded the train from Delhi. Haryana Urban Local Bodies Minister, Sh. Vipul Goel extended his best wishes to the passengers at the railway station.
Addressing the devotees before the departure of the train, the Minister said that the Mukhyamantri Teerth Yatra Yojana is an excellent initiative of the Haryana Government. He said lakhs of devotees across the state are benefiting from the scheme. Under this initiative, beneficiaries have already visited spiritual places such as Ayodhya, Prayagraj and Nanded. The growing popularity of the scheme can be understood from the fact that other states are also following this model, he added.
He further said that under the scheme, senior citizens above 60 years of age are being provided free pilgrimage travel. Families with an annual income of up to Rs. 1.80 lakh are eligible to avail the benefit of the scheme.
Sh. Vipul Goel greeted the devotees at the station and interacted with them regarding the journey. The devotees showed great enthusiasm for the pilgrimage. The train started from Sirsa, from where a large number of devotees boarded the journey. Devotees from Fatehabad, Bhiwani, Hisar, Rewari and Gurugram also joined the pilgrimage. The train departed for Takht Hazur Sahib Nanded with chants and devotional hymns.
Register on Antyodaya Saral Portal to avail benefits of the scheme
The Minister said that devotees wishing to avail the benefits of the scheme must register online for the Mukhyamantri Teerth Yatra Yojana through the Antyodaya Saral Portal. Once eligible persons complete their registration, the department will contact them directly whenever the next pilgrimage journey is scheduled.
