CM directs officers to ensure Infrastructure, Transparency and Public Participation
Chandigarh, February 11- Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini has directed officers to ensure planned and systematic development of Baholi town in Panipat district with adequate infrastructure, civic amenities and transparent public participation.
While chairing the State Level Committee (SLC) meeting convened by the Town and Country Planning Department on Wednesday, the Chief Minister said that development plans must align with future industrial expansion and population needs while safeguarding public interest.
The Chief Minister emphasised that with the presence of the Panipat Oil Refinery and growing ancillary industrial activities, it is imperative to regulate development in the area through a scientific and forward-looking approach. He directed officers to ensure that all infrastructure and public utility provisions are created in a planned manner to support balanced urban and industrial growth.
The Chief Minister was apprised that the development Plan of Baholi town has been prepared by the Department of Town & Country Planning by incorporating the latest departmental policies, ground realities and conformity with other planning parameters. It was further informed that to cater to the projected population of approximately 65,000 persons for the horizon year 2031, the plan provides for Residential, Commercial, Public & Semi-Public, Transport and Communication, Public Utility and Open Spaces. These provisions will ensure the availability of adequate amenities and infrastructure to facilitate sustainable growth and improve the quality of life of residents.
It was further informed that the plan will now be notified and published by the Department to invite objections and suggestions from the public. Any person affected will be able to submit views within 30 days of publication. Thereafter, the final Development Plan will be published to regulate and promote planned development of the town and surrounding areas. The finalisation of this plan is expected to pave the way for industrial development in the area by enabling the provision of essential amenities and infrastructure in a structured and planned manner.

Raja Sekhar Vundru, Additional Chief Secretary, Town and Country Planning, Sh. A.K. Singh, Additional Chief Secretary, Public Works (B&R) and Architecture Department, Sh. Anurag Agarwal, Commissioner and Secretary, Industries and Commerce Department, Dr. Amit Agrawal, Commissioner & Secretary, Urban Local Bodies, Dr. Saket Kumar, Director, Town & Country Planning, Sh. Amit Khatri, along with other Administrative Secretaries and Heads of concerned Departments. Deputy Commissioner, Panipat, Sh. Virender Kumar Dahiya and Deputy Commissioner, Karnal, Sh. Uttam Singh also attended the meeting through video conferencing.
