KMP expressway to become the backbone of Haryana’s industrial revolution: Rao Narbir Singh

Five new cities to be developed under Panchgram Development Authority, Giving NCR a new direction

Chandigarh, February 8 — Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister, Rao Narbir Singh, said that the approximately 135-kilometre Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway is a highly valuable asset of the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC). Keeping in view the projected population for 2031, the government has formed the Panchgram Development Authority to develop five new cities along both sides of the expressway.

The Minister said that Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) will play a crucial role in realising Prime Minister, Sh.Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat-2047, and the KMP Expressway will provide a strong foundation in this direction. In line with this, the Haryana Government has made necessary amendments to its industrial policy to give new impetus to investment,employment, and infrastructure development.

He clarified that the responsibility of HSIIDC should not be limited to generating revenue, but should focus on providing convenient services, streamlined processes, and a conducive environment to industrialists.

Rao Narbir Singh informed that Chief Minister, Sh.Nayab Singh Saini had announced the establishment of 10 new Industrial Model Townships (IMTs) by 2030 to accelerate industrial growth of the state. Out of these, five IMTs have already been approved and their development is underway. The Industry Department’s budget was increased by 125 percent last year, and the upcoming budget will further enhance this growth to ensure continuous industrial expansion in the state, he added.

He said that three of the proposed ten IMTs will be developed in the National Capital Region, with the KMP Expressway as their central axis. The five new cities to be developed will become major hubs of Viksit Bharat .

The Minister further said that with the development of ten new IMTs in the coming years, Haryana is set to emerge as the leader of the country’s industrial revolution.
