Chandigarh, February 7: Owing to the continuous efforts of Haryana Minister of State, Sh. Gaurav Gautam, administrative approval has been granted for the proposed children’s park under the Divya Nagar Scheme along the Delhi–Agra National Highway in Alahpur village of Palwal district. This ambitious project will be developed at a total cost of ₹8.68 crore, providing the region with a modern and safe recreational space.
A government spokesperson informed that for this project, about ₹5.64 crore has been sanctioned from the headquarters of the Urban Local Bodies Department, Haryana, while the remaining nearly 35% of the cost will be borne by the Palwal Municipal Council from its own resources. With the grant of administrative approval, the path for construction of the park has now been cleared.
He further stated that this will be Palwal district’s first park of its kind — a modern children’s park — specially designed keeping in mind the needs and safety of children. The park will include attractive and safe swings, an open gym, walking tracks, seating arrangements, landscaping, and lush greenery with modern amenities. This will not only promote the physical and mental development of children but also provide a healthy environment for local residents.
Sports Minister Sh. Gaurav Gautam said that the state government’s objective is to provide better sports and recreational facilities for children and youth so that they can adopt a healthy, active, and positive lifestyle. The park being developed under the Divya Nagar Scheme will, in the future, emerge as an ideal public space for the area.
