Chandigarh, April 27 – Haryana Public Works and Public Health Engineering Minister, Sh. Ranbir Gangwa, while speaking on the Nari Vandan Act during the Vidhan Sabha’s special session, supported the censure motion against the Opposition’s attitude.
He said that the Opposition not only opposed women’s reservation but also remained absent from the House during today’s discussion. He said that the women of the state would not forgive this and would not allow them to return to the House in the future.
The Minister emphasised that the issue goes beyond providing 33 per cent reservation to women. It is about whether India’s democracy will limit half of its population to symbolic appreciation or ensure them a rightful and dignified role in decision-making.
Sh. Gangwa said that in Parliament, the Opposition claimed to support the bill during discussions, but voted against it when the time came, attempting to block its passage. He further said that the government introduced the bill to provide political reservation for women for the 2029 elections, but the Opposition tried to deprive women of this right.
He also alleged that the Opposition has consistently misled the public with baseless claims and opposed several key decisions, including the removal of Article 370 and the construction of the Ram Mandir. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi, these initiatives were successfully completed.
Expressing confidence in continued public support, especially from women, he said they would secure their rightful place under the leadership of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi.
