Chandigarh, May 3– Cooperation, Jails, Elections, Heritage and Tourism Minister, Dr. Arvind Sharma supported the demand of the Brahmin community to install a grand 121-foot statue of Lord Parshuram at Japanese Park in Rohini during the Delhi Assembly elections. He discussed this matter with the Delhi Chief Minister, Smt. Rekha Gupta and requested approval for the same.
Dr. Arvind Sharma attended a programme on Saturday evening in Rohini, organised on the occasion of Parshuram Jayanti, along with the Delhi Chief Minister, Smt. Rekha Gupta, Union Minister, Sh. Giriraj Singh, MP, Sh. Manoj Tiwari and MLA, Sh. Anil Sharma.
Addressing the gathering, he said that Lord Parshuram protected the interests of the poor, needy and oppressed. He said that Lord Parshuram set high values in life and gave an important message of duty towards guru and parents.
He said that we should take inspiration from Lord Parshuram’s life and work together to strengthen Sanatan culture, which will make the nation stronger. He also said that during the Assembly elections, the Brahmin community gave full support and blessings to the BJP and had demanded the installation of a 121-foot statue of Lord Parshuram at Japanese Park. He said this is an old demand and now is the time to consider it.
Dr. Sharma further said that in Goa, the Rashtriya Parshuram Parishad organised a week-long session where Dalip Shastri presented the story of Lord Parshuram and clarified myths and misconceptions with facts. He said such programmes should be organised everywhere to spread awareness among people who have faith in Lord Parshuram
