Wheat Arrival Touches 39.65 LMT as Procurement Continues Smoothly in Haryana

Chandigarh, April 9 – Haryana Development and Panchayat Minister, Sh. Krishan Lal Panwar said that the State Government is committed to safeguarding the interests of farmers and will ensure that no farmer faces any inconvenience during the wheat procurement season. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, the government will ensure the procurement of every single grain brought by farmers to the mandis.

The Minister was speaking after conducting a surprise inspection of the Gohana grain market (mandi) in the district of Sonipat on Thursday. During the visit, he reviewed the facilities and arrangements made for farmers. He also inspected wheat quality, moisture levels, the biometric registration system, and other arrangements in the mandi.

Directing the officers, he emphasised that the procurement process must be carried out in a transparent and smooth manner so that farmers do not face any inconvenience. He also directed officers to ensure timely lifting, proper storage of wheat, and adequate availability of gunny bags.

He further said that the biometric system has been implemented to prevent any fraud with farmers and to ensure transparency in the procurement process. The system aims to safeguard farmers’ interests and ensure that there are no irregularities in the sale of their produce.

The Minister reiterated that protecting farmers’ interests is the government’s foremost responsibility and that necessary directions have already been issued to all concerned departments and procurement agencies. He clarified that any negligence will not be tolerated and that farmers’ grievances must be addressed promptly.
