CM issues directions regarding compensation through e-Kshatipurti

Chandigarh, April 24: Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that all schemes made for farmers should be simplified, ensuring that farmers do not face any difficulties. He emphasized that any issues arising in the digitalization process should be resolved promptly.

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini was chairing a review meeting regarding e-Kshatipurti at the Civil Secretariat on Friday. Haryana Chief Secretary Sh. Anurag Rastogi, Additional Chief Secretary and Financial Commissioner (Revenue & Disaster Management) Dr. Sumita Misra, Deputy Principal Secretary to CM Dr. Yashpal, Commissioner & Secretary, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department Sh. J. Ganesan, and Director General, Agriculture Department Sh. Raj Narayan Kaushik were also present during the meeting.

During the meeting, the state government also approved the release of ₹370.52 crore under the Kharif 2025 crop compensation scheme. With this approval by Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, the amount will be directly transferred into the bank accounts of more than 1.5 lakh farmers across the state.

The approved amount pertains to claims that were earlier kept pending due to technical scrutiny, including cases involving duplicate or similar photographic evidence. The compensation is being disbursed through the e-Kshatipurti portal, a transparent and farmer-friendly digital platform integrated with the ‘Meri Fasal Mera Byora’ system. The platform ensures end-to-end digitalization—from registration and verification to Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT)—thereby maintaining accuracy, accountability, and speed.

Officials informed that in the first phase, the government had released ₹116.15 crore to 53,821 farmers on December 10, 2025. With the new approval of ₹370.52 crore, the remaining more than 1.5 lakh farmers will now receive the compensation.

They further stated that after applications were submitted on the portal, the system successfully filtered out more than 5,500 suspicious entries, including ineligible and fraudulent claims, thereby safeguarding public funds and ensuring that genuine beneficiaries receive their rightful compensation.

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini directed departments to ensure that the compensation amount is credited to farmers’ bank accounts at the earliest. He reiterated the government’s commitment to stand firmly with farmers during natural disasters.

*Geo-referencing completed up to murabba level*

During the meeting, officials highlighted that with the use of advanced digital technologies such as AgriStack and geo-referenced verification, Haryana is setting new benchmarks in disaster relief management in the agriculture sector.

They informed that geo-referencing has been implemented up to the murabba level in Haryana. Under this, the exact location of each field/murabba has been recorded, creating a clear and authenticated land record. Through this system, transparent data on crop type, area, and actual ground status is available. This initiative will significantly help in crop monitoring, damage assessment, and effective implementation of government schemes.

Officials added that geo-referencing will make it easier to identify genuine beneficiaries, reduce incorrect claims, and accelerate administrative processes.
