Will Ensure Zero Shortage of Drinking Water Across the State- Shruti Choudhry

Chandigarh, May 6- Haryana Irrigation and Water Resources Minister, Smt. Shruti Choudhry, has asserted that the State Government will ensure that there is zero shortage of drinking water in any part of Haryana. She emphasized that the government is fully committed to providing adequate and safe drinking water to all citizens.

The Minister was chairing a review meeting with senior officers of the Irrigation Department and Public Health Engineering Department here today. During the meeting, she reviewed the prevailing drinking water supply situation across the State and issued necessary directions to ensure seamless supply.

She further directed officers to install additional pumps wherever required and ensure timely filling of water storage tanks so that the general public does not face any inconvenience. She made it clear that there will be no constraint of funds or resources from the government’s side in maintaining uninterrupted water supply.

Smt. Shruti Choudhry further directed officers and field staff to discharge their duties with utmost sincerity and accountability. Warning against negligence, she said that any lapse in duty will invite strict action against the concerned officers.

Appealing to the people of the State, the Minister urged citizens to use water judiciously, especially in view of the rising temperatures. She said that water is a precious resource and must be conserved by avoiding its misuse and ensuring its need-based utilization so that adequate supply can be maintained for all.

Smt. Shruti Choudhry also informed that water was released into the Hansi Branch on Monday, May 4, 2026, which has now reached the water storage tanks of Bhiwani city through the Sundar Sub-Branch. This will help in improving the drinking water supply situation in the Bhiwani region.
