Nominations Invited for Haryana Vigyan Ratna Awards and Haryana Yuva Vigyan Ratna Awards

Chandigarh, May 15 – The Haryana State Council for Science, Innovation and Technology has invited nominations for the Haryana Vigyan Ratna Awards and Haryana Yuva Vigyan Ratna Awards to honour scientists for their outstanding contribution in the field of science and technology.

A government spokesperson said that under these awards announced for the year 2026, the scientist selected for the Haryana Vigyan Ratna Award will be given a cash prize of Rs. 5 lakh along with a citation and trophy. This award is meant for distinguished scientists above 40 years of age who have made remarkable contributions in the field of science and technology.

Similarly, under the Haryana Yuva Vigyan Ratna Award, young scientists below 40 years of age will be honoured with a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh along with a citation and trophy. The award has been instituted with the objective of encouraging young talent and promoting scientific thinking in the state.

The spokesperson further stated that only those scientists will be eligible for these awards who have worked or studied in Haryana for 10 years or more, or who are residents of Haryana. For nominations under the Haryana Yuva Vigyan Ratna Award, age will be calculated as on December 31, 2026. He clarified that only fresh nominations will be accepted and self-nominations will not be considered under any circumstances.

The government has appealed to interested candidates and institutions to visit the official website dst.highereduhry.ac.in for detailed guidelines and ensure that their nominations reach the Council office by July 31, 2026.

The spokesperson said that the objective of the Haryana Government is to recognise individuals doing outstanding work in the field of science and innovation and inspire the younger generation towards research and technological development.
