Sanatan culture is strengthened by the ideals of Lord Parshuram- Dr. Arvind Sharma

Chandigarh, April 26 — Haryana Co-operations, Jails, Election, Heritage and Tourism Minister, Dr. Arvind Sharma said that the Parshuram Jayanti  is being celebrated across the country with great enthusiasm. Lord Parshuram is considered the sixth incarnation of Vishnu and is revered not by any particular community but by the entire society.

Dr. Arvind Sharma said that Lord Parshuram worked for the welfare of all while fighting against injustice and oppression. His ideals will further strengthen Sanatan culture, said the Minister. He said that Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi is also working for the welfare of society by following his path, thereby strengthening Sanatan culture.

Dr. Arvind Sharma was addressing a programme organized on the occasion of Lord Parshuram Jayanti at the Brahmin Dharamshala in Kaithal on Sunday. Earlier, he offered prayers at the Lord Parshuram Temple. On this occasion, the Cabinet Minister along with BJP State President, Sh.  Mohan Lal Badoli, listened to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme.

Dr. Sharma said that Goa is considered the karmabhoomi (land of action) of Lord Parshuram.  The Minister said that in Goa, a seven-day religious discourse is organized by Pandit Dalip Shastri.  The Minister suggested that such events should also be organized in Haryana so that people can gain wider knowledge about the life and ideals of Lord Parshuram, and similar programmes should be held at the district level as well.

He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister, Sh.  Narendra Modi, India is reaching new heights and the country’s global stature has increased. Along with strengthening Sanatan culture, unity in the country has also grown. The benefits of government schemes are being delivered transparently to eligible beneficiaries by both the Central and State governments. Jobs are now being provided on the basis of merit and Youth from all sections are getting opportunities without discrimination, said Dr. Arvind Sharma.

He further informed that the Gaur Brahman Vidya Pracharini Sabha located at Paharawar in Rohtak is one of the prominent institutions in the country, for which the Haryana Government has provided 15.5 acres of land. Registration for its membership is ongoing. During the budget session, a proposal was placed for the construction of a museum at the Lord Parshuram Memorial Site on four acres of land, which has been approved by the Chief Minister. After its construction, people from across the country and abroad will visit it.

Dr. Sharma also said that the Haryana Government is constructing a medical college in the name of Lord Parshuram at a cost of Rs. 900 crore. MBBS studies have already commenced at Neki Ram Sharma Government Medical College. In addition, buildings and squares named after Lord Parshuram are being developed at several places including Jhajjar, Karnal, and Panipat.

He said that Lord Parshuram Chowk has also been inaugurated in Kaithal. The government is working on the principle of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas. He also announced Rs. 11 lakh as additional grant along with the previously announced Rs. 26 lakh for the Brahmin Dharamshala in Kaithal.

BJP State President, Sh. Mohan Lal Badoli said that Lord Parshuram Jayanti is being celebrated enthusiastically throughout the month, with various programmes organized every year on this occasion. Lord Parshuram was a great ascetic, embodiment of sacrifice, and devoted to his parents. He said that society should draw inspiration from his ideals and remain united. The government, too, is working on the mantra of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas, ensuring that the benefits of schemes reach eligible people.
